THE BOOK OF LISTS
Red Arrows CD-EP/12" (CW018)

Global Symphonic is proud to present Red Arrows, the debut release from one of Vancouver's most exciting new acts, The Book of Lists. Formed in August 2004, The Book Of Lists is the latest endeavor by Chris Frey (guitar and vocals), singer and bass player for the highly regarded Radio Berlin. In their short, well-received existence, The For a first recording by a new group, the eclectic-minded Red Arrows displays an impressive melodic dexterity, dynamic yet efficient song structures and an educated and confident sense of self-purpose. Bolstered by the lively interplay of Trevor Larson (guitar), Laura Piasta (bass) and veteran drummer Brady Cranfield (Joel R.L. Phelps, The Secret Three), Frey's multifaceted vocals deliver wry observations on personal, social and universal themes. Bathed in a warm cloud of reverb and fuzz, their songs simultaneously take on an air of nostalgia and timelessness, reminiscent of the best work of bands like Roxy Music, David Bowie, Ride and Syd Barrett, but with a contemporary style and energy.
