"Rapture, Ye Minions" CD (CW003)
One of the more wackier and estrangest bands to emerge
out of Victoria: musically and aesthetically. The debut from Atlas
Strategic offers a thick slab of sci-fi, spy-flick, herky-jerky blues,
new wave raunch that pays as much homage to Jon Spencer, The
Cramps, and Deja Voodoo as it does to the scrambled mind of
the late Burroughs, etc. This band was scooped up under the wing
of Modest Mouse's Isaac Brock for a while (tour support,
etc.) before their dissolve in 2002. Members now play in the Sub Pop band
Wolf Parade. Released 2000.
