The Death Birds CD (CW005)
Guaranteed to challenge most listeners, the debut album
from A Luna Red is an interesting venture as the band members,
born of hardcore/art-punk pedigree venture into the world of dark goth/electro-punk.
Dense atmospheres prevail on this record, from the droney textures of
old groups like Swans and Dead Can Dance to the more edgy,
synth-punk of PiL, Trans Am, Skinny Puppy, Big
Black, and Killing Joke yet still remaining raw and punk at
the same time. A Luna Red dissolved in late 2003 and now play in Primes
(check out their Global Symphonic release here.),
Droom,
and A
Spectre Is Haunting Europe. This band also contains a member
of a more well-known band called Radio Berlin.
